"The emblematic Theater Apollon"

The Apollon Theater serves as a cornerstone for theatrical art in the cultural activities of the Municipality of Syros – Hermoupolis and the social life of the island. Simultaneously, it stands as one of Syros’ most significant landmarks, symbolizing the cultural heritage of Hermoupolis.
Built in 1864, the theater was designed by the Italian architect Pietro Sampo, who drew inspiration from four iconic Italian theaters, including the renowned La Scala in Milan.

Since then, it has graced the heart of the Cycladic capital with its elegance and charm.
The Apollon Theater hosts a variety of artistic and cultural events, renowned theatrical productions, and world-class performances. It serves as a space for artistic creation, free exchange of ideas, and the promotion of aesthetic values that uphold the humanistic ideals of culture while fostering social cohesion.
